Two-time Grammy® Award–winning guitarist and singer-songwriter Billy Strings has officially announced his appearance at the 53rd Annual Charlotte Bluegrass Festival, taking place June 19–21 at the Eaton County Fairgrounds in Charlotte, Michigan. In a surprise announcement to fans, Strings revealed, “This is the first bluegrass festival I ever attended and it changed my whole life!”
Produced by Zellie’s Opry House Productions & Promotion and SBW Promotions, the Charlotte Bluegrass Festival celebrates more than half a century of traditional and progressive bluegrass excellence. Now in its 53rd year, the festival brings together a powerhouse lineup of Americana and bluegrass acts, including Appalachian Roadshow, The Seldom Scene, Junior Sisk, Edgar Loudermilk Band, Volume Five, David Mayfield Parade, Tennessee Bluegrass Band, Harbourtown, Red Camel Collective, Kentucky Just Us, Crabgrass, Cedar Creek, Forked Run, and High Times.
Billy Strings will headline the opening night on Thursday, June 19, at 8:30 PM, delivering an electrifying set that reflects both his deep reverence for bluegrass tradition and his boundary-breaking vision for the genre’s future. Festival organizers note that this performance marks a homecoming of sorts: Strings’s journey from wide-eyed festival attendee to international bluegrass phenomenon all began right here in Charlotte.
