Three-Time Grammy-Nominated Blues Legend Eric Bibb Kicks Off 2026 With the Release of New Album, One Mississippi, January 30th

Repute Records and three-time Grammy-nominated blues icon Eric Bibb are proud to announce the release of One Mississippi, a landmark album arriving worldwide on January 30, 2026. This project marks not only Bibb’s most ambitious and musically expansive work yet, but also a bold new era for Repute Records as a fully independent, artist-driven label with total creative and commercial worldwide control.

Repute Records will release three digital singles in advance of the new album, each with an accompanying video:

  • October 10This One Don’t

  • December 5If You’re Free

  • January 30One Mississippi

One Mississippi was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Glen Scott, who also served as multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and A&R on the project. The album was recorded and mixed at Scott’s private high-end studio in Uppsala, Sweden, blending superior sonic craftsmanship with heartfelt performances. Bibb’s masterful acoustic guitar and warm baritone voice remain at the center, framed by Scott’s visionary production.

“As much as I love writing and recording new songs, I also enjoy discovering and covering great songs by other songwriters,” said Eric Bibb. “The title song of my new album, One Mississippi, was written by my high school friend Janis Ian and acclaimed songwriter Fred Koller. This new collection of stories, from a not-too-distant American past and a tense global present, is a call for peace, justice and unity in a divided world. Producer Glen Scott, with his unique genius for bold and elegant production, has framed each track so organically that the song and the arrangement are inseparable. A thousand thanks to the fabulous singers, players and behind-the-scenes team members for helping us tell the tale.”

The album also features legendary UK guitar virtuoso Robbie McIntosh (Paul McCartney, The Pretenders, John Mayer), whose expressive playing adds depth and grit to Bibb’s storytelling.

One Mississippi showcases Bibb’s exceptional songwriting and collaborative spirit, with contributions from Greger Andersson, Paul Jones (harmonica), Shaneeka Simon, Sara Bergkvist Scott, Zosha Warpeha, Esbjörn Hazelius, Staffan Astner, Sven Lindvall, Janis Ian, and Fred Koller. Among the highlights is the title track, delivered with heartfelt truth and clarity.

The release follows a prolific stretch for Bibb. His 2023 album Ridin’ earned a 2024 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album, while Dear America (2021) and In the Real World (2024, recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios) garnered universal acclaim from critics and roots publications.

A New Era for Eric Bibb and Repute Records

For the first time in his 50-year, 40-album career, all aspects of the release—creative, promotional, and commercial—will be handled in-house. One Mississippi is both an album and the centerpiece of a campaign designed to unite Bibb’s roots, blues, folk, and mainstream audiences while establishing Repute Records as a leading independent, artist-led label.

A Timeless Voice, An Unprecedented Vision

Eric Bibb’s music has long been celebrated for authenticity and emotional resonance. One Mississippi builds on this legacy with songs that speak to hope, history, and humanity—delivered with warmth, honesty, and masterful musicianship.
