Spafford‘s 2024 Winter Tour continued this week at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo, MI which featured a night of incredible music on Wednesday.  The second set opener “Memphis in the Meantime” is a favorite and frequent cover of this eclectic band, and Spafford delivered a twenty-eight minute monster version that had everyone dancing like they were on the famous Beale Street.

This extended version features heavy type 2 jamming that Spafford explores every single night combined with the rhythmic lines from bassist/vocalist Jordan Fairless.  Fairless helps guide the band to spaces only known by each member and in turn transports the audience to a different place and time.

“There are moments when we come out of a jam space when I feel like I am just gone. Like a momentary blackout,” said Fairless.
